Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) is a hands-on, overnight training course for Scouts BSA adults (Scoutmasters, assistants) to gain confidence in leading outdoor, Scout-led adventures. It teaches practical skills like camping, cooking, navigation, and fire-building needed for Scouts BSA ranks.

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) is a mandatory, two-part Scouting America training course designed for Cub Scout leaders and parents, ensuring at least one adult on a pack overnighter is equipped to plan safe, fun outdoor activities. It covers camping policies, site selection, cooking, and campfire programs.
